I'm in the same boat, about 4 hours to the nearest Lexus dealer. Sad, as the GX Luxury+ was boiling down to my preference. I even tried to put a bug in their ear to build a dealership nearer. Canned answer, that they appreciate the interest and suggestion, but at least they responded. The nearest Lexus dealer is 100 miles away, so Land Cruiser for me.
I would inquire w/ the local Toyota store if they can(are willing to) perform your Lexus maintenance and service.I'm in the same boat, about 4 hours to the nearest Lexus dealer. A self-maintenance person, periodic maintenance, i.e. oil changes, filters, etc., I do myself. Always have, always will. So, only any warranty items would be the only issue, and not really a big concern with a Lexus, or Toyota for that matter. Have owned many Toyotas over the years, and zero issues, save a recall or two.I would inquire w/ the local Toyota store if they can(are willing to) perform your Lexus maintenance and service.
After driving a hybrid for the 1st time I am sure now that I will continue to buy cars like this in the future. My nearest Lexus dealership is over 3 hours away. Does not matter I’m more excited about the LC than the GX. I’m simply looking for a new daily driver right now and the hybrid is more appealing to me.
Bobby, I see you, as we do, own a Highlander Hybrid. A remarkable system, no starter, alternator, or belts. No tranny clutches or bands either. Two electric motors coupled to a Power Split Device (planetary gear set). However, the LC or GX hybrids will not be as unique, and really do not gain that much MPG with their hybrid systems. Still, it is the way the industry is going. Personally, would love to have the forthcoming GX hybrid, but as with you, our nearest Lexus dealer is over 3 hours distant. After driving a hybrid for the 1st time I am sure now that I will continue to buy cars like this in the future.
